Pottery Workshop: Colorful Clay
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
This workshop is designed for the student who is looking to add some color to their process! Students will be led through a demo on proper and safe ways to add mason stains to their clay. These techniques are sensitive, but incredibly fun. Your instructor will help you design your perfect palette of clay use our in house clay bodies and explore ways in which to combine and create unique results using your colored clay bodies, including marbling and patterning.
CLASS PREREQUISITES:
- Familiar with clay basics & principals - can form basic hand-built or wheel thrown cups. Recommend 1-2 Intro To Wheel or Intro to Handbuilding classes prior to this class
Materials included:
- 5 pounds of white clay
- Mason Stains
- All clay tools
Quick Facts:
- NO OPEN STUDIO access alongside these classes, unless pre-existing Open Studio access is already in place (i.e. have an active registration in another 6-week class or membership).
- This is not a firing class - techniques learned / pieces made can only be fired if you have an existing shelf
